Ishkhan (title) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Ishkhan (title)
''Ishkhan'' ((アルメニア語:իշխան)) was a feudal title in medieval Armenia, literally meaning ''prince''.〔Anne Elizabeth Redgate. The Armenians (The Peoples of Europe), 2000, p. 98〕 The word originates from the Armenian verb ''ishkhel'' (Armenian: իշխել), meaning ''to govern'' or ''to rule''. The title ishkhan was used both in parallel and in substitute of other Armenian feudal titles, such as nakharar, paron, douks, ter, or melik.〔Vahan M. Kurkjian. A History of Armenia. 2003, p.147〕 Ishkhan is also an Armenian first name. ==References==
